I lived in London 🇬🇧 for eight years, and if there’s one thing the city does incredibly well, it’s food 🍽️. With endless options and every cuisine you can imagine 🌍, choosing where to eat can feel a bit overwhelming, which is exactly why I put this list together! I’ve tried more restaurants than I can count, and these are the ones I keep going back to ❤️.

Cipriani
My go-to Italian in London: timeless, elegant, and consistently perfect. The service is old school, the pasta is spot on, and the people watching doesn’t hurt either!
Cecconi’s Mayfair
A weekday favourite: relaxed but polished, with great pastas, crisp service, and a buzzy crowd. Make sure to book the week before.
China Tang
Tucked inside The Dorchester, China Tang serves some of the best Chinese food in London. It’s perfect for a weekend group dinner! I would recommend the pekin duck and the dumplings, they’re always delicious!
Zuma
Always a bit of a mission to book, but worth it for the energy and the sushi. Loud, stylish, and consistently fun 💃; it’s ideal for a night out that starts with dinner and doesn’t end there.
Jamavar
Elegant and quiet, Jamavar is perfect for a midweek date when you’re craving incredible Indian food with real spice.
At Sloane
Inside the new hotel near Sloane Square, this spot has the same owner as Hotel Costes, so the vibe is effortlessly cool! Great for drinks and dinner in a chic, moody setting that feels very Paris meets London. The miso salmon is incredible!
Berner’s Tavern
Set inside The London Edition, this is a dinner date classic with the old-money charm. Expect beautifully done British dishes in a grand, art-lined dining room that always impresses. I usually love to order the dover sole and the lobster truffle mac and chees!
Gold Notting Hill
Laid-back but stylish, Gold is a favourite for west London dinners with a bit of buzz. The menu leans Mediterranean, the crowd is cool, and the upstairs is perfect for a fun night with friends. You should try as many dishes as possible as the menu is just perfect there!
The Dover
Romantic, dimly lit, and full of New York charm; The Dover is perfect for a date night. Think moody interiors, killer dirty martinis, and that effortless downtown vibe right in London. I love their small hot dogs!
Chiltern Firehouse
Still one of the most iconic dinner spots in London: buzzy, glamorous, and always full of interesting people. The food’s great, especially the duck ragu gnocchi, the grilled oysters and the spicy vodka pizzetta !
Helene Darroze
A true fine dining experience: with three Michelin stars and a focus on seasonal ingredients, it’s a special occasion kind of place that always delivers. It’s located inside the Connaught hotel in Mayfair.
Cantinetta Antinori
A beautiful Tuscan spot in the heart of London, full of warmth, charm, and excellent wine. It’s cosy, elegant, and perfect for when you want Italian food that feels both elevated and comforting. They also have live music playing during weekends!
The River Cafe
The River Café is a Fulham classic by the Thames. Vintage, colourful interiors and perfect for people watching. Don’t miss the taleggio pizzetta and ever-changing pastas. One of those places you’ll keep going back to even if a bit pricey! For dinner they close the restaurant quite early at 21.30 but it could be amazing for an early dinner.
